India’s Next Match: How to Find the Schedule & Where to Watch

The short answer

Two tabs, thirty seconds. Open the BCCI site for the official fixture list, and ESPNcricinfo for the same fixtures with local-time conversion and squad links. If the two agree, you have your answer. If they disagree, the official board announcement wins.

Teen Patti Stars is an online card room, not a sports broadcaster, and we are not going to pretend to be a fixtures service. What follows is the durable version of this question — the method, not a date that expires.

Why we do not print dates here

It would be easy to type a fixture list into this page. It would also be irresponsible, and here is the honest reasoning.

Cricket schedules move. Series get rearranged around ICC events and franchise windows. Venues change for logistical or weather reasons. Start times shift with broadcast requirements. A date typed into an article in July can be wrong by August, and the article will still be sitting there, confidently wrong, when someone finds it in September.

This is the same principle we apply everywhere on this site: no live scores, no medal counts, no lottery numbers. A stale fact presented as current is functionally the same as an invented one, and the fact that it was true once is no defence.

The three sources that are actually reliable

Notice what is not on that list: aggregator sites, YouTube thumbnails, forwarded images, and any page whose headline is a question with an exclamation mark. Those exist to be clicked, not to be right.

Start times: the IST traps

More people miss the first hour of a match because of a timezone error than because of anything else. The recurring traps:

• Toss time versus start time. The toss is typically half an hour before play. A schedule listing the toss will look like the match starts earlier than it does.
• Venue local time versus IST. An away series in England, the Caribbean or Australia will be listed locally on the host board’s site. India is 5:30 ahead of UTC, which produces awkward half-hour offsets against almost every other timezone.
• Date rollover. A late-night Caribbean or American start can be the following morning IST. The date on the fixture and the date you will be watching are not always the same.
• Daylight saving. India does not observe it; England, Europe and parts of Australia and North America do. The offset to those countries changes twice a year.
• Device timezone. Auto-converting sites rely on your phone’s setting. If it is wrong, so is every time you see.

Where to watch: how rights actually work

“Which channel is the match on” has no permanent answer, and understanding why saves a lot of frustration.

Media rights are sold in cycles — typically multi-year packages — and by territory. A board sells the rights to its home international matches; the rights to an away series belong to the host board, not to India’s. This is why the broadcaster for a home India series may be completely different from the one showing India away, in the same year.

Practical consequences:

• Check per series, not per team. “Where do I watch India” is not a question with a stable answer.
• Television and streaming rights can be split, sometimes between different companies entirely.
• Regional and language feeds vary. A series may be on one channel in Hindi and another in English or a regional language.
• Only use official apps and licensed broadcasters. Unofficial streams are unreliable, frequently laden with malware, and illegal in most jurisdictions.

The official series announcement — usually a press release from the relevant board — names the rights holder. That is the source to trust.

Knowing what you are tuning into

A quick orientation, because “India’s next match” can mean any of several very different things:

• T20 International — roughly three and a half hours, twenty overs a side, usually an evening fixture at home. The format overview covers the rules if you are new to it.
• One Day International — around eight hours, fifty overs a side, typically a day or day-night start.
• Test match — five days, and start times that follow the host country’s morning.
• Domestic and franchise cricket — separate schedules entirely, published by the BCCI and the relevant league.

Spotting a recycled fixture graphic

Fixture images spread faster than corrections. Four checks before you trust one:

1. Is there a year on it? A huge proportion of circulating schedule graphics are from a previous season.
2. Does it name a source you can open? If the watermark is a page you have never heard of, go and check the board site instead.
3. Does it label the timezone? A schedule without a stated timezone is not a schedule.
4. Does it match the official listing? Thirty seconds of checking beats an evening of being wrong.

A five-minute routine before any match

1. Confirm the fixture on the official board site.
2. Confirm the start time in IST, and note whether it is toss or play.
3. Confirm the broadcaster from the series announcement, not from memory.
4. Check the squad if you want to know who is actually playing.
5. Re-check on the day. Weather and logistics change things late.

And accept in advance that there will be dead time. A T20 innings break, a strategic timeout, a DRS review, a rain delay that stretches to an hour — that is where the evening leaks away.
